The Chumbagua Sugar Company is a private sector agroindustrial company founded in 1948; and one of the main sources of development in the north-western part of the country.

It has grown steadily during the last years achieving its place among the producers as one of the  best sugars in the country.
Today, around 3,000 families, made up of employees, independent producers, cane cutters and carriers are benefitted directly or indirectly by employment or the purchase of their harvest.
